The ACS has been conducted in accordance with the ethical principles set out in the Helsinki declaration. Participation in the ACS is voluntary and written informed consent is obtained from each participant. The most recent version was approved by the AMC medical ethics committee in 2007 for the MSM cohort, and in 2009 for the PWUD cohort. The ACS complies with the GDPR.
